Kids say the funniest things!

What is so amusing about a story about last night's dinner? Simply by opening their mouths kids have the power to make us laugh-- at ourselves and the world around us.

If you have any interaction with kids, then you have doubtlessly bene moved to smile, and even to laugh at something that they have said. I think that is why I have stayed in childcare for so long. If I am feeling down in life about anything, I can go into the daycare and be amused and touched. This can happen if they say something totally off-the-wall that shows that they have been listening to mom and dad a little more than they are aware, if they have some sort of hidden wisdom about the world that can only be seen through eyes of innocence, or simply make their first ever knock-knock joke that makes very little sense.

I once had a child describe his adventure swimming in Lake Michigan and how he had swum out to the "Booby." (He meant buoy.)

I have heard it said, "If God hadn't made them so cute, most kids wouldn't make it to the age of 18." But I think that more of the truth is that if God hadn't made them so cute, no parent would make it to age 45. Our hearts would dry up without the love and laughter that these little ones give us each and every day.
