Amusing Child Stories

More funny stories from daycare

Stories such as these help us to focus on what really makes childcare such a wonderful environement in which to work.

Sometimes working in daycare is a wonderful experience, but there are other days where nothing seems to go right. Days where the children are irritable with each other, where milk is spilled and naptime not peaceful. It is on those days that I break out a little book that my center created several years ago. Titled, "Wit and Wisdom From the Kids of St. Michael Lutheran school." Here we record funny and sweet things that our children have said over the years that lighten our hearts as we re-read them on these difficult days.

Many of the things that are written there are funny to us because we know the individual children involved and likely wouldn't be as amusing to an outsider. Others are memorable because they were recorded years ago and the children in question would now never say something like that again-- or at least never admit to saying it.

Here on Suite101 I have taken to using some of these stories as a pleasant break when I have been writing things on an overly serious subject. Most recently, this has been because of a series of articles on school safety prompted by the Amish School Shootings.
