Hi Carrie,

Kevin sounds like quite a challenge - trying to cross the bridge between being a baby and a big boy! I'll be interested to hear more of how you are managing this situation and how he is progressing.

Irene

I'm excited as well to see how he progresses. I have faith in him, and in the other staff at our center, especially since we've seen children who acted similarly three years ago who are now flourishing and eager to attend our center.

Carrie, I'm so glad this site is here, as I have a toddler in day care part time. Thankfully, Gwendolyn's transition to day care was mostly smooth. Her mommy, on the other hand, cried like a baby the first few days!

I can totally understand that. I'm glad that her transition went fairly easily. Sometimes the mother's anxiety has an impact on the child's ability to make a healthy transition into a new center. It sounds like you have found a good balance with her being in daycare only part time. It often helps if you are able to spend extra time with her when you are outside of work.
